Missing Dog Saved After Being Found Clinging To Side Of Pond At Golf Course

A missing dog was safely rescued after being found clinging to the edge of a pond at a Colorado golf course recently.

Luna had escaped through a gate in her family’s yard and went missing, sparking a search by her worried owners. She was later discovered in distress, holding onto the side of a pond where she was unable to get herself out.

Westminster Police Department Animal Management Officer Wood responded to the scene after reports came in. With the water too deep to safely reach Luna directly, the officer carefully used a leash and towel to secure her and lift her to safety.

The rescue was carried out slowly and carefully to avoid causing further stress or injury, with responders working from the shoreline to bring the frightened dog back onto solid ground.

Once safely out of the water, Luna was assessed to ensure she was unharmed after her ordeal. Thankfully, she was found to be okay.

She was then reunited with her family, who had been desperately searching for her after she went missing from home.
