Rescuers Pretend to Drive with Pit Bull Who Loves to Go on Car Rides

When Mr. Man joined Stray Rescue of St. Louis a few weeks ago he was emaciated, covered in scabs and had engorged ticks in his years. The Pit Bull was rescued by a woman who found him and “drove for hours in hot, stormy weather to get him help.”

Mr. Man arrived on a day that was particularly difficult for Donna and the rescue team. They had been out rescuing dogs and had seen “heavy and heartbreaking things. Things that will keep us up at night,” Stray Rescue revealed on Facebook. But for Mr. Man to arrive safely at the shelter was a big win. “Every time one crosses our threshold, it is such a blessing for that soul,” they wrote.

Two weeks later, Mr. Man is getting healthier and his rescuers say “the light is shining in his eyes again.” Also, his caregivers are overjoyed to have found something that makes him very happy. That thing turns out to be something his future foster caregiver or adopter will hopefully be able to give him. That thing? Car rides!

His rescuers reveal, “We found what makes him soooo happy….CAR RIDES! He would absolutely love to be fostered or adopted by someone who drives a lot! Need a partner in crime during your long commutes? Say no more, Mr. Man would be the best company!”

He loves them so much that when the vet techs at Stray Rescue of St. Louis take him out on a walk they take him to sit in the car before he has to go back in. How sweet is that?

Mr. Man is around 9 years old and the rescue is hoping to “give him what he’s always wanted in his golden years” because “he’s waited so long!”

Mr. Man is still on a strict diet due to being emaciated, but the rescue will help any potential fosters and adopters.
