Heroic Husky Saves Family And Neighbors from Dangerous Gas Explosion

A Husky named Kobe is being called a hero for saving a Pennsylvania neighborhood from a potential gas explosion.

Recently, Kobe dug a hole in the front yard of his home. Many dog owners would think that behavior was pretty normal for a dog but his mom, Channell Bell, noted it because it was unusual for her dog.

She covered up the hole but when Kobe dug another hole a week later in the same spot and then stared straight at her and wouldn’t budge her intuition told her something was up. So she grabbed her gas leak detector and tested the hole. What she discovered shocked her.

The gas seeping out of the ground was at the highest level possible. She immediately called the gas company and crews rushed out to repair the leak. They discovered that the gas had not only seeped into her home but into the home of her neighbors. Channell told Inside Edition’s Jim Moret that she has no doubt that Kobe saved her neighborhood and calls her dog “a true hero.”

She later told SWNS there could have been other consequences than an explosion too. “If it wasn’t detected and the gas continued to leak into our homes we were told it could’ve caused serious health effects like respiratory issues, brain damage, and even death. They told me that something as simple as a light switch turning on could’ve caused an explosion, too!”

“This woman is a hero as well for being smart enough to use that gas detector on the hole,” wrote one viewer.

“What a hero! Kobe smelled the leak and saved his neighborhood,” said another. “He deserves a reward.”

Another viewer said, “Props to not only Kobe for trying to alert to a problem, but to Chanell for being attentive to and listening to her pet. If I was her neighbor I would make both of them so much food from that point on.”
