Dog Rushed to Vet Hospital After Found By Police in Heartbreaking Condition
A small dog found in heartbreaking condition by police in Brooklyn, New York is getting a second chance after AMA Animal Rescue rushed her to emergency care.
The rescue writes, “We were contacted about a dog found in absolutely horrendous condition. When we first saw her, our hearts broke. The police reached out to us for help, and the moment we saw her, we knew she needed emergency care immediately.”
They named her Cookie, noting it’s “a sweet name for a dog who has endured unimaginable suffering.”
Poor Cookie’s skin was covered in raw, inflamed sores and her rescuers’ noted that there isn’t a single spot on her body that isn’t wounded. They say, “She’s emaciated, and the smell of infection fills the room before you even reach her. You can see the pain and exhaustion in her eyes.”
But Cookie is now in the right hands to nurture her back to health. She is at the veterinarian hospital and is now receiving much needed, and long overdue, care.
