Shelter Puppies Huddle Behind Toilet Until They Learn to Trust Humans
Three terrified shelter puppies didn’t trust humans until Kelsey McDonough took the time and effort to help them.
Kelsey, who fosters and rescues dogs, noted that the 16-week-old puppies had been “dealt a very bad hand,” going from being red-listed for euthanasia at the shelter to huddling in her bathroom for weeks. “But patience, space and stillness brought them back to life and I think it brought me back too,” she wrote on her Instagram account. Although Kelsey admits she got too attached to the pups while fostering them (she even ending up adopting Nash), she is overjoyed they all have found wonderful homes. She wrote, “They are everything that’s good, I know that they’re everything worth saving.”
Animal lovers agree with Kelsey’s sentiment and applauded her efforts. One viewer wrote, “The dogs worked hard, because you worked so hard. Huge Respect – you’re setting the standard for the rest of us. Well done!”
