Two Dogs Were Trapped In Rising Texas Floodwaters Until A Black Hawk Crew Spotted Them

After severe weather caused widespread flooding across 28 counties in central Texas, a Texas Army Black Hawk crew and Texas A&M Task Force 1 were carrying out a search-and-rescue mission when they spotted two lives in desperate need of help.

Two dogs were trapped behind a tall fence in an outdoor enclosure that was rapidly filling with floodwater. With no time to lose, the rescue team lowered a basket from the helicopter and lifted both dogs to safety.

Once safely aboard the helicopter, the grateful pups were flown to Southwest Animal Hospital, where they were cared for until they were joyfully reunited with their family the very next day.

In the middle of a disaster, these rescuers made sure no family members—human or canine—were left behind.
