Rescue Dog Who Beat Distemper Has a Lot to Say
A rescue dog named Luna is always trying to communicate with words. Her mom, Dani, says Luna frequently acts like a “sassy teenager” and even knows how to say “no,” among other words. “She understands me 100%,” Dani says.
Luna came into Dani’s life under desperate circumstances — her mother was rescued while pregnant. When she gave birth, all the puppies were sick with distemper, and Luna was among them. From the start, Dani felt a strong bond with Luna and knew she was meant to be her dog.
Despite surviving distemper, Luna was left with a malformed skull, a common side effect of the infection. Her distinctive appearance turns heads whenever they go out, but it’s her personality that truly captures people’s hearts.
