Rejected Lamb Finds an Unlikely Best Friend in Guardian Dog
When Richard the lamb was rejected by his mother, his rescuer Lacey hoped he’d find comfort among the other rescued sheep on her farm. But Richard had different plans and a different companion in mind.
Instead of bonding with his fellow sheep, Richard formed a surprising friendship with Chumley, the farm’s livestock guardian dog. Chumley is usually all business—devoted to protecting the animals, not playing with them. But with Richard, it’s different.
The two are inseparable. Richard follows Chumley everywhere, and Chumley, who rarely lets other animals get too close, not only tolerates Richard—he likes him. They snuggle, nap side by side, and Richard even acts as Chumley’s tiny enforcer, nudging away pesky chickens who bother his big buddy.
