Golden Retriever and His Piglet Pals Have the Sweetest Morning Routine

Winston the Golden Retriever has been raised with pigs since he was just a puppy. He now loves them so much that he runs into the barn to greet them, shows them his favorite stick, and jumps right into their pen to play.

His mom, Rebecca Krueger, shares adorable videos of Winston’s friendship with her pigs. Not only does he eagerly wait to get into the barn every morning, but once he’s inside, the pig pens become playpens—with Winston rolling onto his belly as the delighted piglets jump all over him.

In one video, Winston runs into the barn and leaps over the fence to say hello to his pals.

Krueger notes that “Winston adores hanging out with his pig friends” and shared a longer video of Winston lapping up all the attention from the piglets.

In another, he can’t wait to show off the stick he found that morning.

Krueger also shared a longer video of Winston just hanging out and having fun—so much so that you’d think he was a pig himself!

Some viewers expressed concern that Winston might get hurt by the adult pigs, which are sometimes known to be dangerous. But Krueger explains that Winston was not only introduced to the pigs as a puppy, but that her pigs are “well fed and super tame/playful.” She added, “They really are only dangerous when hungry. Ours are well taken care of and fed twice a day. He has been by them and they don’t hurt him.”

Another viewer wondered where Winston’s jumping enthusiasm comes from: “Anyone else wondering why this golden retriever is able to jump a fence and I’m over here lifting my golden onto the couch every time?” she joked.

Winston’s unlikely friendship with the piglets has not only charmed his family but captured the hearts of viewers everywhere.
