Dog ‘Adopts’ New Neighbors and They Couldn’t Be Happier About It

When Nicole and her family moved into their new home, they quickly noticed a curious and adorable Goldendoodle watching them when they arrived. Their new neighbors soon came over to introduce themselves and their dog, Pita. Pita immediately hit it off with one of Nicole’s dogs, Fia.

The very next day, Nicole heard a knock on the screen door. Assuming it was a package delivery, she opened it only to find Pita standing there, tail wagging. That unexpected visit marked the beginning of heartwarming friendships.

Now, two to three times a week, Pita comes over to play with Nicole’s dogs. “Everyone starts hitting the body wiggles,” Nicole says of her pups, who have fully embraced Pita as a part-time pack member. Nicole even set up a special doorbell with pet alerts so her family knows when Pita comes to visit.

What started as a surprise knock has turned into a joyful neighborhood ritual—one that’s not just brought the dogs closer, but turned neighbors into friends. Nicole jokes that she’s now the “neighborhood aunty” to Pita, and everyone wouldn’t have it any other way.
