Chihuahuas Battle Snow One Tiny Step At A Time While Looking Adorable
Chihuahuas Cedric and Maya may not be the first dogs that come to mind when you think of rugged and tough, but they can handle a harsh Canadian winter like champs.
Decked out in their winter attire – including parkas and booties – the pair venture into the snowy backyard on an “Arctic expedition.”
Their family shares on their Instagram account, “It’s tough out there for all tiny Canadian chihuahuas. It takes forever to get dressed to go outside, only to spend your time on trying to find your way back home. There is so much snow that you can’t see where you’re going.” Thankfully, they have cleared paths through the snow to make navigation easier. “Snow maze was a fun mental challenge for them,” @tinychihuahuacedric writes.
Each pup struggles with different challenges in the cold, their family reveals. “Cedric mostly has hard time with wanting to do more than he physically is capable of. His tiny paws get stick indeed snow, the snowy hills are like mountains for him and he burns his energy on just little bit of running.” Thankfully, “He’s never cold!” He’s happy wearing his winter jacket and booties. Maya, on the other hand, has no problem jumping off snowy hills or walking through deep snow. But – and it’s a big “but” – she is “always freezing.” No wonder she always wants to escape the snow as fast as she can.
Cedric and Maya may not love winter, but they do what they gotta do to doo doo.
