Australian Shepherd Boarded In Kennel For Four Years Gets The Best News

A young Australian Shepherd boarded in a kennel for four years finally got a lucky break. The dog named Frankie was trying to get adopted after his owner moved away, but finding an adopter proved too difficult for the people caring for him, who reached out to the Asher House for help.

Upon learning that Frankie had been boarded in a kennel with almost no interactions for so long, Lee Asher was glad to help. He reassured the woman dropping Frankie off that “he’s not going to think about the last four years of his life.”

“Nobody would take him because there was no information on him,” Asher explained. But seeing how affectionate and joyful Frankie is, Asher was happy that he took the chance.

The high energy pup was quickly introduced to the other dogs in Asher’s pack and seeing his delight at running free will warm your heart. Watch the sweet video below:

Adoptions among rescue dogs have been extremely difficult in the past few years with overcrowded shelters and more dogs needing help than many rescuers and fosters can handle.

Watching Frankie zooming around Asher said, “His story broke my heart but seeing him run free with the pack brings me so much joy.”

Frankie has now been renamed Kevin and the Asher House says he will be available for adoption very soon!
