Kind Man Takes Shelter Dogs On ‘Pit Bull Car Pool’ To Help Them Find Homes

For the past 10 years, Yves Mathieu has dedicated himself to fostering pit bulls, helping 45 of the often misunderstood dogs find loving forever homes. Wanting to give shelter dogs a break from kennel life, he created “Pit Bull Carpool,” a program where he takes pit bulls out for the day, drives them around, and lets them simply enjoy being dogs.

Because he travels for work, Mathieu has been able to help shelter dogs in cities across the country, often choosing pit bulls that have been overlooked, are long-term shelter residents, or are at risk of euthanasia. He says he feels a special connection to the breed and is passionate about giving these dogs the visibility and second chances they deserve.
