Miracles Happen’: Lost Dog Walks Into Auto Shop, Reunites With Family a Year Later
It was a reunion one year in the making and one that left the shelter staff at Stray Rescue of St. Louis in tears. A small stray dog showed up outside St. Louis Auto Repair. They brought her to Stray Rescue to check for a microchip — and she had one.
Their rescue dispatch team called the number and a man answered. He was shocked. Stray Rescue shared what happened next on Facebook:
“He said his little dog has been missing for ONE YEAR and ONE MONTH!! ‘I’m on my way to work but…oh my God I can’t even think about that right now. I’m on my way!'”
When he showed up he was crying, prompting them all to cry.

“This guy walks in, crying (now we’re all crying too) and we bring the dog out whose tail is going 1,000,000 miles per minute,” the shelter said. “They are reunited and we guarantee she’s never going to go missing again!”
They added, “What’s the message here? Make sure your pets are microchipped and your info is up to date!! Miracles happen!”
