Watch ‘Feisty’ Pomeranian Chase Black Bear Out Of Home
Scout may be five pounds of adorable fluff, but this Pomeranian is also a fierce protector as his mom, Kayla Kleine, discovered.
As residents of West Vancouver, British Columbia, Kleine and her husband are used to black bear activity around their home’s backyard in the mountains. But this week, one bear took it a step further and entered the house.
It was around noon when Kayla Kleine was in the bathroom and had the back door open because it was a hot day. That’s when a bear decided to wander into her kitchen and help himself to Scout’s breakfast. That’s when Scout decided to go “alpha dog” on the bear. Her security cameras caught it all on camera.
Scout wasn’t satisfied in driving the bear out of the house, he chased the animal right out of his backyard.
“He’s the best. He’s super cuddly and affectionate but he’s really feisty and really protective of me and my husband,” Kleine later told Global News in an interview.

Kleine said she just wanted a “couch potato lap dog” but as Scout demonstrated, Poms can be small but mighty!
She shared a cute clip of Scout seemingly patrolling the backyard ever since.
He’s also getting spoiled after going viral and appearing on the news.
It should be noted that wild black bears are frequently seen in neighborhoods on the North Shore in Vancouver in spring and summer months.
