Husky Missing for Over Three Years Joyfully Reunites with Family
At long last, a Siberian Husky who was missing for over three years has been reunited with her family. The dog went missing after she escaped from home. According to Chicago Animal Care and Control (CACC), her family “posted flyers, searched over and over, and kept their microchip up to date all these years.”
In June this year, the husky suddenly appeared on the streets. She was very skinny and was rescued and helped by Adopt A Husky, Inc. and thankfully her family was quickly located because of her microchip. CACC shared on their Facebook page, “It’s very unlikely this dog was running the streets for three years, sadly it’s more likely someone probably kept this dog hidden away without ever trying to help her home.”
CACC also shared a video of the heartwarming reunion and wrote:
“After more than THREE years apart… this family is finally whole again. This sweet dog had been missing for over three years before being urgently rescued in very poor shape. Thanks to a microchip and the help of Adopt A Husky, Inc. her family was found and they were reunited this evening at Chicago Animal Care and Control…It just took the scent of her family, who never stopped looking for her, to make that tail start wagging again.”
It was an emotional moment for the family, who held back tears. “The whole family was trying to keep it together,” said CACC.
The shelter also urged pet parents to microchip their animals and to keep that information updated so lost pets can find their way home like this sweet girl did.
