Baseball-Loving Dog Becomes Local Star for Chasing Foul Balls

A dog in Sartell, Minnesota, might just be the biggest four-legged baseball fan around. His summer passion? Watching the game. Not to cheer, but to chase down foul balls.

When his dad, Al Schulte, puts on his baseball cap, Bruno gets excited, knowing it’s game time. Schulte says in other seasons Bruno is an excellent hunting dog, but in the summers Bruno finds retrieving baseballs just as fun.

Each time a batter steps up to the plate, Bruno watches closely, waiting for a foul ball. As soon as one is hit out of bounds, he rockets off to retrieve it.

His biggest competition? The kids. That’s because if they snag a foul ball, they get a free freezie treat. But Bruno usually beats them to it. Don’t worry though. Bruno’s dad gives the balls to the kids, so it’s a win-win for everyone.
