Sweet Dog Gives Up Her Bed So Her ‘Teddies’ Can Sleep In It
A dog parent recently captured an adorably sweet moment when she went to check on her Labrador Retriever, Doris, and found her lying on the floor next to her bed because she had given it up so her beloved stuffed toys could sleep in it.
Doris’ mom put the video up on TikTok (@doristhegoldenlab) and wrote in a caption, “Sweet soul would rather give her bed to her teddies than move them.”
In the clip, Doris wags her tail as her mom approaches but patiently waits for her to move the “teddies” before climbing into bed herself.
One viewer commented, “Doris is a perfect teddy-mom.” Another added, “Her teddies need their own bed,” to which Doris’ mom replied that Doris actually has five beds in the house and multiple baskets for her stuffed toys—”but she likes pulling them all out and taking them to the bed after giving them nib nibs.”
Doris clearly adores her plush companions and often carries them to her calming donut beds around the house. Her mom calls her a “sweet angel” and also notes how clever she is, especially when it comes to her toys. “She’s a genius in how quickly she learns her new teddies’ names,” she wrote, sharing a clip of Doris recognizing her brand-new blue whale toy.
