Special Dachshund has the Crowd Cheering Her On at Weiner Dog Race

It’s the final heat of the Star 101.5FM 18th Annual Wiener Dog races at Emerald Downs and fan favorite Anderson Pooper is about to take centre stage!

Anderson is an adorable Dachshund with disabilities but she doesn’t let that stop her from participating in the sport – she’s got a spiffy wheelchair to get around.

As the dogs get ready to race, an announcer introduces Anderson to a cheering crowd.

Then it’s off to the races! While other Dachshunds pull out ahead of Anderson, she takes on the course in her own indomitable style!

Cheered on by an enthusiastic crowd Anderson crosses the finish line with an enthusiastic smile on her face. It’s obvious she’s having a blast!

Her dad, David Sizer also filmed Anderson’s POV of the race with a GoPro!

Although she rolled in last in the race, she’s first with the fans.

Every time Anderson participates in a race, the crowd is visibly moved by her winning attitude.

Since this race was filmed, Anderson Pooper has passed over Rainbow Bridge. But her legacy of fundraising for dogs with disabilities and participating at Emerald Downs continues with Mary Poopins who was adopted by Sizer.

You can see Mary at the 2023 Emerald Downs race in the clip below.
