Senior Dog Dumped at Shelter Due to Dental Issues Now Getting Spoiled Rotten
14-year-old Gandalf did nothing wrong other than get old. The dog was surrendered at the Animal Haven Shelter due to his bad teeth.
Confused and scared, Gandalf didn’t know what was going on. But the shelter got his dental work done – he had to have most of his teeth removed – and they also removed a large mass on his chest that turned out to be a simple lipoma. His story quickly went viral and he immediately found a forever home with a family of dog lovers where he could recover.

“Gandalf’s new dad was literally waiting outside of Animal Haven before we opened the day after we posted his story,” Animal Haven Shelter shared on Facebook. “We know that Gandalf is going to be absolutely spoiled rotten for the rest of his days, living his best life with a big yard upstate with his new siblings. We could not have dreamt of a happier ending to his story.”
Gandalf instantly befriended his new family’s dogs and he’s now pain free and living a wonderful life.
