Pomeranian Rescues Baby Pigeon and a Unique Friendship Is Born
A chance encounter with a baby pigeon led to an unlikely friendship—and unexpected comfort—for a Minnesota woman grieving the loss of her daughter.
It was a quiet fall day in Minneapolis, just a few months after Glenda’s daughter had passed away. While out walking with her Pomeranian, Flash, he suddenly stopped to sniff at a storm drain. When Glenda took a closer look, she spotted a tiny baby bird trapped below.
She gently scooped him up and brought him home to care for him. Flash immediately bonded with the bird, checking on him constantly and refusing to leave his side. While the little dog was quick to offer affection, Glenda took longer to warm up—but the bird kept cuddling close, slowly winning her over.
She named him Screech. Now fully grown and able to fly away, Screech chooses to stay with Glenda and Flash, the family he found in the most unexpected way. Watch their adorable friendship in the video below:
