Lost Pomeranian Walks Into Minnesota Public Pool and Finds Friends to Rescue Him

Como Regional Pool in Minnesota had an unexpected visitor a few weeks ago when a Pomeranian wandered through the gates. He showed up “solo,” wearing only a harness—much to the confusion of the pool staff.

Swimming and lifeguard coach David Albornoz, who has a rescued Pomeranian of his own, immediately felt a soft spot for the lost pup, whom they nicknamed “Mo.” Albornoz took Mo to check for tags and a microchip, hoping someone out there was missing this “cutie.” And it turns out—someone was.

WCCO CBS aired a news story about Mo’s adventure, which reached his family and led to a heartwarming reunion.

Mo Mo—whose real name is Topic—had been sorely missed by his family after he got loose and ran away.

“The kids were so happy to get their pup back and had even made a poster and my hearth was full of joy,” Albornoz shared on Facebook.

He continued:

“Thanks much to the help and encouragement of many many lovely people, the power of social media and the coverage from WCCO & CBS news MN we were able to get in contact with them and bring MoMo home. This story is a testament to the power of good and kindness, of how we can come together for good and look after each other and all beings around us.”
