Limping Dog Melts Into Her Rescuer’s Arms After Being Picked Off The Street

Jaina and Ivy, who work with Cats of San Bernadino in California, don’t just rescue cats. Take Reina, for example—a small, injured dog they spotted limping across a busy road. It was clear to them she had just been hit by a car. Seeing the poor dog hobbling through traffic, they immediately stopped and ran out to help her.

Jaina approached Reina and didn’t have to do much to coax her over. Reina came willingly, and the moment she was picked up, she melted into Jaina’s arms.

They rushed her to the veterinarian, where she stayed overnight. When they picked her up the next day, they learned she had a broken leg but no other serious injuries. Reina greeted them with the funniest smile—wagging her tail and flashing a wide, toothy grin. She seemed to love everything about being rescued. She plopped into her bed like it was the first soft one she’d ever seen and kept beaming her signature grin.

Reina opened up even more when Megan, a volunteer with the rescue, fell in love with her—and gave her a forever home. Now Reina spends her days happily playing and being doted on by her loving family.
