How to Make Marshmallow Peeps for Dogs

It’s DIY dog treat time, Easter edition. Gone to the Snow Dogs regularly makes dog treats for her huskies that are safe to eat for both dogs and humans. For Easter, she decided to put her spin on one of the more popular Easter candies out there – Peeps.

“Easter is coming, and we thought it would be fun to try something new! Peeps for dogs. That’s right, we are making marshmallow Peeps for dogs,” Gone to the Snow Dogs writes on YouTube.

There are a few basic ingredients needed for this recipe:

– Honey (Memphis the husky wants to steal the honey before it’s even out of the jar)
– Salt
– Vanilla extract
– Unflavoured gelatin
– Coconut flour (for coating the “Peeps”)

You’ll also need a cooking thermometer and a Bunny-shaped silicone mold.

Gone to the Snow Dogs will walk you through the rest of the steps in the video below:

Gone the Snow Dogs provides the following disclaimer to note regarding the recipe: “Please note that I’m neither a vet nor an animal nutritionist, so it’s advisable to consult with your own authority when trying new foods, and also to ensure that your dog’s home cooked diet is balanced & includes all of the nutrients that are necessary for your dog’s health. As with ALL treats, feed in moderation, and don’t feed anything to your dogs that you don’t feel comfortable feeding them. These are treats, not meal replacements.”
