German Shepherd Forms Sweet Friendship With Twin Fawns in Her Backyard
When Maple the German Shepherd was just a puppy, she made friends with two other babies—twin fawns. Maple’s mom, Tiffany, says Maple was in their large backyard when she spotted the deer and slowly inched closer, being careful not to startle them. The fawns were just as curious about her and didn’t run away.
From that day forward, the baby animals sought each other out, often sniffing one another through the fence. Maple even brought the deer one of her toys. Watch Maple’s sweet friendship with the deer in the video below.

Tiffany explains that even though the deer are now older, they still recognize Maple and aren’t afraid of her—unlike the other deer in the neighborhood. Their ongoing bond is a beautiful reminder of how friendships can bloom in the most unexpected ways.
