Dying Man’s Final Wish Was To Say Goodbye To His Two Dogs — Now They Need A Home Together
A Bronx man was granted one final wish before his death last month — the chance to say goodbye to his two beloved dogs and ensure they would be cared for after he was gone.
Mr. Spencer was reunited with his German Shepherds, Nikki and Bowie, when they were brought to visit him in his hospital room. The two dogs eagerly approached his bedside, leaning their heads against the bed as he petted them during the emotional reunion.

Those present described the visit as a touching moment between the man and the dogs he loved.
Just hours after seeing Nikki and Bowie, Mr. Spencer passed away.
With no relatives or caretakers listed to take responsibility for the dogs, NYC Second Chance Rescue stepped in to help ensure they would be looked after. The organization’s founder, Jennifer Brooks, said she promised Spencer that his dogs would be cared for and that the rescue would work to find them a permanent home.
Nikki and Bowie are a bonded pair and will need to be adopted together. According to the rescue, both dogs are well-trained, well-behaved, and gentle with people. They are seeking a home where they can remain the only pets.
If you think you could give Nikki and Bowie the loving home Mr. Spencer hoped for, you can apply directly through the rescue’s website at nycscr.org
