Dogs Love Alton Brown’s Unusual Stinkin’ Dog Treats
Dogs and humans may eat a lot of the same foods but their tastes are definitely not the same as ours. Chef and TV host Alton Brown certainly noticed this when one day he saw his dog snacking in the kitty litter box! Gross? Yes. Familiar to any dog parent? Yes. Rather than quickly dismiss his dog’s behavior, Alton was curious as to why his dog actually wanted to snack on cat poo. He discovered many dogs like “stinky” gross treats. That’s how he came up with his recipe for Stinkin’ Dog Treats. He figured if he could create a healthy dog treat recipe that had stinky appeal, he just might convince his dog to leave his bad habit behind and instead ask for these treats.
Ingredients needed:
8 oz sweet potato
3 cups of oats
1 can of sardines (plain sardines)
1 large egg
1 oz. peanut butter
2 cups oat flour
2 tsp fish sauce
