Dog With Special Needs Finds Pure Happiness Splashing in Puddles
Meet Stevie the Wonder Dog. He lives with a condition called Cerebellar Hypoplasia, a neurological disorder that affects motor control, due to an underdeveloped cerebellum. It causes no pain, but challenges with balance and coordination. Much like The Asher House’s Matilda, Stevie doesn’t let this hold him back from enjoying life.
One of his favorite pastimes? Puddle dancing. The muddier the puddle, the more Stevie splashes!
On one particular day, while his mom was on a Zoom staff meeting, Stevie decided to have a “Zoomie meeting” of his own. Mom shared a video of the delightful (and naughty) moment, captioning it: “When Mom’s on a Zoom staff meeting and can’t stop me!!”

Stevie’s mom shared. more about Stevie’s neurological disorder and his love of puddles. “Dogs with CH tend to fall on a spectrum of severity level and Stevie would be considered more on the mild end of the spectrum. He is a big lovable goofy lab who loves puddles, not the rain or baths though. You can see as soon as his paws started touching water he got more excited! The first day we adopted him, it happened to have rained and he found the puddles right away and started splashing! It’s been nothing but fun with Stevie ever since!”
The splashing videos were filmed when Stevie was about five years old. Now, at ten, he’s slowed down a bit. He’s not as interested in puddle splashing these days, but he still enjoys sniffing around the yard.
And playing with his huge collection of stuffed ducky toys.
