Two Dogs Threatened on Video Are Now Safe Thanks to Community Action
Vegas Pet Rescue Project is breathing a sigh of relief after two dogs were removed from a home and placed in safe hands following serious concerns for their lives.
The Las Vegas–based animal rescue said a family member reached out to report a suspected case of animal abuse and shared videos that appeared to show a man threatening two dogs with an axe. According to the rescue, the woman who contacted them had recently left a problematic relationship with the man a few weeks earlier. She believed the violent threats toward the dogs were intended to coerce her into returning.
On its Facebook page, Vegas Pet Rescue Project’s Facebook shared: “We have received multiple videos containing highly sensitive and disturbing content. These videos include explicit threats of extreme violence toward dogs, including statements about harming and dismembering them.”
“It gives me chills it makes my heart sink that somebody would even threaten or do anything like that to animals,” Lindsey Pinapfel, one of the rescue’s volunteers involved in helping, told News 3 Vegas.
The rescue quickly asked the community to help by contacting local law enforcement through 311. Within 24 hours, authorities removed the dogs from the home while the situation remains under investigation.
Pinapfel expressed gratitude for the swift response and community advocacy, noting that collective action often makes a critical difference. She explained that when multiple voices speak up, it can help move cases like this forward more quickly and ensure animals are protected.

The dogs are now safe with a family friend, according to Vegas Pet Rescue Project. They shared a photo on Facebook and wrote:
“We have received messages stating that the dogs are safe with a family friend, photos above. With this information Henderson Police Department was able to confirm that for us. At this time we don’t know what will be happening next with the man. But HPD is still investigating the situation. Thank you to our city for sharing, translating, & notifying local authorities. We will continue to always speak up for the voiceless.”
