When Vanessa with Girl With The Dogs agreed to groom Dodge the Caucasian Shepherd she didn’t know she was grooming a “bear” of a dog. She didn’t know if she may or may not have lost her mind agreeing to groom the 220 pound dog on her own but she came equipped.
The Caucasian Shepherd is known as a powerful breed that is wary of strangers, therefore they need an experienced dog owner to ensure they do not become aggressive. But Vanessa says that Dodge is a veritable “unicorn” being docile and sweet and accepting of her grooming.
That’s a good thing because with his thick coat, Dodge requires a lot of washing. After using an entire bottle of shampoo on his coat, Vanessa jokes she would need 50,000 more canisters of shampoo to finish washing the huge dog!

Holy cow, he really is a unicorn, barely even reacted to the dryer! Ive had the honor of helping to train and desensitize a young Caucasian Shepard and it’s not easy! His owners have put some good work into him.
