Disheveled Cocker Spaniel Begs for Help Outside Gym
What started as a regular workout at the gym turned into a life-changing rescue for Kimberly and a desperate Cocker Spaniel in need. Kimberly was at the gym when she noticed a bedraggled Cocker Spaniel staring inside through the door. He was wet, dirty, and looked like he was begging for help. Concerned, she went outside to check on him, and he followed her to her car. “He looked so helpless…almost defeated,” Kimberly said of the dog.
She soon saw that he was covered in fleas, his fur was matted, and stickers were tangled in his coat. After giving the poor pup a bath, he was so exhausted he fell asleep as she groomed him. A check at the veterinarian revealed he had no tags or microchip.
In the following days, Kimberly called animal shelters and posted information about “Pluto” (as she named him) to her local lost and found pets group on social media. A woman reached out, claiming Pluto was her dog—but then six days passed before Kimberly heard from her again. When Kimberly asked for proof of ownership, the woman never responded. Concerned, Kimberly called the police, who told her that given the person’s delayed response, she shouldn’t engage further, and to contact them if the woman reached out again.
It was at that point Kimberly decided to keep Pluto, calling it the best decision she’s ever made. Kimberly revealed on her TikTok channel that Pluto filled a void in her heart after she lost her previous dog. “I believe my sweet fur baby, Mittens, knew I was lonely since his passing two months ago,” she says
“Pluto is never not happy,” she adds. He’s so sweet that her new goal is to help him become a therapy dog so he can spread joy to others.
