A Border Collie is making sure the foster kittens in her mom’s care are kept safe by the pool. In the sweet video shared by Bordernerd, a dog trainer and foster caregiver for kittens, Phoebe the Border Collie is watching a group of kittens learn safety skills around the pool.
Bordernerd writes on Facebook that this is not to teach the kittens how to swim rather, “this is to teach them how to exit the pool safely if they ever fall into one. All my foster kittens are supervised, but it is always a good idea to prepare them for emergency situations.”
Even though the kittens are being monitored (and even have little flotation devices), Phoebe also monitors them closely to ensure all get safely to shore! The dog’s natural herding instincts come in handy to keep a close eye on her furry charges.
