There have been 15 “Chestys” who have walked the halls of Marine Barracks Washington as the official mascot of the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation and U.S. Marine Corps Barracks. Now, with the 16th Chesty reporting for duty, the Marine Corps has decided to share a behind-the-scenes look at wha his daily life is like.
Like the Marines he represents, Chesty went to boot camp and began training—obedience training that is—at 16 weeks old. His training serves him well as he navigates parades, ceremonies, and his many handlers.
The video also reveals that Chesty has four different uniforms, allowing him to match whatever uniform the Marines are wearing at official events. Bulldogs chosen for the role must also love attention—and Chesty more than meets that requirement, happily earning his reputation as a total snuggle bug.
And his favorite snack? A surprising one: a puppuccino.
