Dog Stuck In Concrete Kept Barking, Hoping Help Would Come

Residents in Aydın, Turkey, heard a dog’s desperate barking coming from a nearby construction site. The cries seemed to emanate from beneath a freshly poured layer of concrete, and people feared the worst—that a dog had somehow become trapped.

Rescuers from the local search and rescue organization AKUT were called to investigate. What they discovered was almost impossible to believe. A dog was partially buried in hardened concrete, unable to move.

They suspected that the dog had walked through concrete that was still soft before falling into a pile of construction debris. As the concrete hardened around her and the surrounding material, she became completely trapped.

Rescuers carefully began the painstaking process of freeing her, using a power chisel to slowly break away the concrete surrounding her body. The delicate operation took seven hours.

When she was finally freed, the exhausted and frightened dog had only a few pieces of concrete still clinging to her fur. Rescuers immediately gave her an IV drip to help restore her strength before taking her to a veterinarian for examination.

At first, they believed they had rescued a stray. Then came the news that made the rescue even more meaningful. The dog was named Paris. And she wasn’t a stray at all, she had a family waiting for her.

After receiving a veterinary checkup, Paris was returned safely to her owner, ending a terrifying ordeal with the happy reunion.
