Stray Bulldog Falls Into Frigid Creek After Running Through Traffic — Now Safe and Healing

A small white Bulldog who ran into traffic before falling into a freezing creek in Chester County, Pennsylvania is now safe thanks to a group of Good Samaritans who worked together to save her.

Lucky Dawg Animal Rescue (LDAR) was called into help and shared on Facebook how the homeless Bulldog, now named Tinkerbell, came to be rescued.

LDAR wrote:

“Today, some Good Samaritans spotted something running in and out of traffic at Routes 100 and 30 in Exton… it was this little white bulldog. She was terrified and clearly in need of urgent help.”

“Our friends at the West Whiteland Police Department and Fire Companies assisted in the rescue. The frightened dog ran behind several businesses, eventually falling into a creek and struggling to get out.”

Alynn Decker, who had seen Tinkerbell run into the wooded parking area followed after her and had called the police, who arrived quickly. There wasn’t an easy way to pull Tinkerbell out of the creek, but luckily one of the caring people on the scene had a white blanket that they were then able to place in front of the dog to help pull her out.

Once Tinkerbell was freed, LDAR brought her back home with them.

The rescue revealed:

“She had no collar, no microchip, and her body tells a story of hardship. Her feet are raw and sore, her nails so overgrown she could barely walk, and her skin is rough and inflamed. Her ears were cropped, and it’s clear she’s had several litters of puppies before. She weighs only about 30 pounds, but she’s finally warm, fed, and loved.”

Since being rescued, Tinkerbell has been on antibiotics and her skin is improving.

“Today she even got to go out into the field and roam a bit — and we saw her tail wag for the very first time,” LDAR added.

“We don’t know how long she’s been out there or what she’s been through, but we do know this — those days are over. From this moment forward, she’ll only know gentle hands and kind hearts.”

LDAR is asking if anyone recognizes her or knows where she may have come from, that they please reach out. They are hoping Tinkerbell will be ready to go to a foster home in December.
