Australian Firefighters With Rescue Pups Turn Up the Heat for a Good Cause
For 33 years, the Australian Firefighters Calendar has been more than a fun, beloved annual tradition. The launch of the 2026 edition continues that legacy, pairing photos of hunky firefighters with a clear charitable mission — supporting animal welfare, disaster recovery, and medical charities across Australia and the United States.

This year is no different. Firefighters from Australia and the United States partnered with adorable rescue dogs to raise funds for a variety of charities and animal rescue organizations.

Each year, members of the calendar team travel to California for CatCon in Pasadena, an event celebrating feline culture and community. But in January 2025, devastating wildfires swept through areas the Australian firefighters know well. In response, and in partnership with U.S. printer Alan Hudson of MarkitPlace and fulfillment partner Selery, the team transformed concern into action — producing a special charity calendar with all proceeds directed to the Pasadena Humane Society.

“It was heartbreaking to watch the parts of Los Angeles we visit each year devastated by these fires. I stayed in constant contact with our friends there, and the firefighters featured in our calendars decided to produce a charity edition to raise funds and show solidarity with our U.S. friends,” said David Rogers, Director of the Australian Firefighters Calendar.

The Pasadena Humane Society became a critical lifeline for hundreds of displaced pets. Within days, the organization had taken in more than 800 animals — from cats crammed into offices to dogs sheltered in makeshift crates, and even a pony housed in a garage.
Emergency veterinarians and shelter staff worked tirelessly to treat injured animals and reunite families. While not every life could be saved, their dedication brought relief and hope to countless pet owners during an awful crisis.

The calendar’s reach extends well beyond wildfire response. When catastrophic flooding struck Kerr County, Texas, in July 2025, funds from the Australian Firefighters Calendar were donated to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund.

The 2026 calendar is available in five themed editions: Dog, Cat, Horse, Mixed, and Hero, each featuring firefighters alongside adorable animals like koalas, puppies, and kittens.
