Sick Elderly Street Dog Makes Stunning Recovery After Rescue
Meet Sena, a senior Soi dog who went from death’s door to a lovable fluff ball thanks to the love she’s been given. Beth received a call from her friend Jack, who had found Sena in Khao Son, a rural area of Thailand. He asked if she and her partner would be willing to rescue the dog. She said yes, and when they picked Sena up, they realized she hadn’t eaten in a very long time.
On the ride back to Phuket, they weren’t sure if Sena would survive—she was that sick. Even after making it home, during the first few days they questioned whether they were doing the right thing by trying to keep her alive. Still, they reassured her that she was loved.

After three days, her tail began to wag, and they knew she wanted a second chance. Over the following months, she grew stronger, her fur began to grow back, and she even started to play. Sena went from 10 pounds to 28—a dog transformed.
