Man Dresses In Dachshund Costume to Make People (and His Dog) Smile
Rich Luchford works as a roofer, but when he walks his Dachshund, Mia, he takes on a different role — that of a goodwill ambassador.
It all started when Luchford decided to take Mia for walks while dressed in an inflatable Dachshund costume. It wasn’t for Halloween, but simply to “fetch some smiles.” He thought it would be funny for a wiener dog to walk a wiener dog. It quickly transformed into something more meaningful — spreading a little happiness around his neighborhood. He says that every time someone sees him, they stop and want a photo, laugh, and smile.
Now, it’s become Luchford and Mia’s routine. As for what Mia thinks of her dad’s “get up”…Mia gets excited every time she sees him pull out the costume, and Luchford swears she actually prefers when he wears it.
