Recently, Dasher the dog seemed to be curious about broccoli…and then he wasn’t. His mom, Ashley Hopson, filmed his hilarious reaction after she extended him a piece of broccoli for him to try only. The comments responding to Dasher’s reaction were just as funny, and the laughing emojis poured in.
“He wants a treat, but he doesn’t want the treat to be broccoli,” said one viewer. “In his defence he tried but couldn’t do it,” said another.
“He liked the idea of it,” one person said of Dasher. “He’s like maybe if I pretend to eat it, it’ll go away’,” joked another. “He’s eating his vegetable to the best of his abilities,” wrote someone else. “And that’s all I can ask for lol,” responded Ashley.
Others offered suggestions. “Steam it… my dogs love steamed broccoli cauliflower and carrots.” Ashley answered, “I’ll have to try that! He loves raw carrots so I was hopeful.”
Another commenter suggested, “Try giving it to him stalk first! I had a dog that hated the florets touching his lips but he loved the stalks so he’d eat them with his lips curled back.” Ashley replied, “That’s a good idea! I’ll have to give that a try to see!”
Some people were obsessed with Dasher’s “air bites.”
“The air bites got me,” noted another fan. “My dog will take the food and then drop it immediately and walk away. Its like he doesn’t wanna hurt my feelings,” shared one viewer. “Same! He will take green veggies and then run into the living room and play with it,” said Ashley.
“‘Dammit, even the air bites taste like farts’,” one other person imagined Dasher thinking. “He would know! He’s the gassiest dog I’ve ever had and I would change a thing about it,” said Ashley.
“The biting at the air took me out he’s pretend trying it,” laughed someone. Ashley responded, “It’s the effort that counts.”
