Dad and Dog Share Heartwarming Breakfast Tradition Every Morning
Meet Ruby. While some dogs wait under the table for scraps of food, Ruby has her own place at it. Every morning, she sits at the breakfast table with her dad and they share a meal together. He makes her a special liver pâté sandwich, and the two enjoy not just the food, but each other’s company.
Redditor @Educational-Cup-2423 recently shared photos of the sweet pair’s adorable routine, a routine that has been going on for years. Dad, 75, began the heartwarming tradition when the Golden Retriever / Poodle mix was just a puppy. Fourteen years later, they are still doing it.
“For years and years I’ve come to eat breakfast at my dad’s house at 9AM,” @Educational-Cup-2423 told DogHeirs.com. “When Ruby was a small pup, she decided herself she wanted to sit by the table like us and have breakfast. And she’s done so ever since.”
“She’s 14 now and jumps right onto the chair every morning,”@Educational-Cup-2423 said. “She’s my dad’s best friend. They eat and talk and sit together every morning.”
The family who lives in Norway, enjoys a traditional Norwegian breakfast together. Dad and Ruby always sit in the same places at the table, at the same time in the morning, and eat the same sandwiches. “If she [Ruby] wants another one, she’ll tap his arm with her paw,” the Redditor explained. “She usually eats three.”
After 14 years of shared breakfasts, Ruby and her dad prove that the simplest routines can hold the deepest love.
