Adopted German Shorthaired Pointer Finds Pure Joy in Every Car Ride
When Willa, a German Shorthaired Pointer (GSP), needed to be rehomed, Natalie jumped at the opportunity—only to discover that Willa really, really loves jumping into the car.
Any time Natalie and her family drive anywhere, Willa is just bursting with excitement. During the entire ride, she jumps in anticipation of whatever adventure might be ahead. “It’s her happy place,” says Natalie, who adds that Willa’s mood is one of pure excitement.
Her other GSP, Millie, is equally energetic, just not in the car. Millie prefers to sit and watch during the ride, but once they’re outside, it’s Millie who goes crazy.

The dogs wear e-collars to help keep them safe. Natalie explains that, as high-energy dogs, they can sometimes become fixated on an animal or scent and not respond. The e-collars are a tool her family uses, and both dogs have been trained to respond to the beep sound the collars make.
Natalie says it’s been “chaotic and crazy” since adopting Willa but also wonderful. These two German Shorthaired Pointers definitely look like they’re living their best lives!
