Golden Retriever Wins Hearts While Helping Dad with Baguette Duty

A dog in Paris is winning the hearts of dog lovers everywhere by being a very good boy. In an adorable video captioned “Things you only see in Paris,” a Golden Retriever waits patiently at a crosswalk with a baguette in his mouth. He stands calmly on the sidewalk, holding the baguette like a prized stick, and waits for the signal to cross.

“Strolling through Paris, baguette in mouth, this dog is living its best French life,” Matador writes in the description.

In the video, a woman waiting at the intersection notices the dog’s charming behavior and puts her hands to her mouth in delight.

No doubt the baguette is being carried with the utmost care. After all, Golden Retrievers are known to be “soft-mouthed.” It’s the term for the breed’s trait of picking up and carrying objects (usually their toys) gently, making them ideal for retrieving game or, in this case, delivering bread like a true Parisian.

It’s not only in Paris that Golden Retrievers carry out baguette duties. This sweet dog named Marley loves to deliver baguettes every morning in San Francisco. Just like the dog in Paris, Marley is so proud of her job.
