Dog rescuer Kristin Erwin is always patient but persistent with the many stray dogs she saves in Texas. Her dedication to rescuing them has lead her to found her own rescue StreetHeartsTX. But her husband took the lead in saving one of their dogs after the white dog with blue eyes showed up at their workplace.
For a whole year the dog would watch them work. He was extremely skittish and wouldn’t let them get near him but he took the food they offered him.
“We would toss food hoping to earn his trust one day,” she wrote in the rescue video she shared. But the dog kept his distance until they decided to bring in reinforcements – their dogs.
Their dogs helped considerably, teaching the stray white dog that Kristin and her husband could be trusted.
Kristin shared that every time closing time for work rolled around it was hard to see him and leave him there. A few more weeks passed and then, finally, a breakthrough! The dog ate from Kristin’s husband’s hands!
The first time the dog did so Kristin exclaims “it feels like a dream.”
That was quickly followed by the “first pet” and the dog coming into their work office! It didn’t take long after to convince the dog to head home with their pack.
All the hard work paid off and the white dog soon joined them sleeping on the couch with the other dogs, cuddling with them and enjoying life with his new family. The dog is now a beloved family member and Kristin says he’s, “turned out to be the coolest, quirkiest dog.”
