Dogs Heroically Run To Get Help When Their Mom Suffers Stroke

Two Labrador Retrievers heroically came to the rescue of their owner after she suffered a stroke and desperately needed help. Maureen Hatcher collapsed in her home in St. Augustine, Florida after a blood clot cut off the flow of blood to her brain. She doesn’t remember much of what happened next, but she does remember Sadie coming in to check on her.

“I remember Sadie coming in,” Hatcher told First Coast News. “I said mommy needs help and then they were gone.”

The two dogs were caught on Hatcher’s Ring surveillance camera running out of the house. They’re seen running out onto her driveway and around the corner.

It turns out they went next door to Hatcher’s neighbor, who came to investigate and found Hatcher on the floor. She immediately called 911 and paramedics arrived to rush her to hospital.

Doctors later revealed that if it hadn’t been for Bella and Sadie’s quick actions, Hatcher may have suffered permanent brain damage.

Hatcher told the news station after she’s not sure how the two dogs got out the door as the door locks automatically; she thinks the door somehow did not close properly the day of her stroke. A very fortunate accident, as it was what her two loyal dogs needed in order to save her life.

“By rights, I shouldn’t be in the shape that I’m in,” Hatcher said. “I am blessed… .very blessed.”
