The love in a rescued dog’s eyes when she is taken out of the shelter where she was staying melted our hearts. It is a rescue day for The Asher House and they are visiting Marion County Animal Shelter and one of the first dogs Lee Asher greets is a one year old Pomeranian. The sweet little girl immediately licks Lee’s nose but it’s when they are out of the shelter and in the car ready to head to the Asher House that the cutie does the sweetest thing.
The little pom is so happy to be free that she leans into Lee’s chest and presses against him and then stares up and into his eyes with a look that can only be described as genuine love. Lee’s passenger notices and comments, “She’s in love.” And Lee is overcome with emotion and has to wipe tears from his eyes. It’s truly a precious, genuine moment.
There are some other cute moments in the video between this heartfelt moment – such as when Tiffany the pittie jumps on the counter to say goodbye to the shelter staff. But this one stands out.
