Heroic Cat Saves Her Dog Best Friend From Two Coyotes

Binx the black showed up at the door of Lane Dyer’s home when she was 2 months old. And recently the formerly-stray cat really “showed up” for the family’s dog, Oakley, when she defended the little dog from two coyotes.

Layne Dyer said that they had let the 6-year-old Havanese out for a potty break in the backyard when the dog was attacked by a coyote that appeared out of nowhere. Then a second one appeared but both wild animals were chased off when Binx charged at them. Binx gave her best friend enough time to run inside.

Oakley’s belly was cut open and she had to be rushed to the hospital where she was stitched up and her leg put in a cast. Veterinarians told them that Oakley might lose the limb but she’s healing up nicely.

The chain of events happened so quickly that the family wasn’t sure what had happened but when they looked back at their security camera footage they saw their heroic cat in action.

“It was inspiring to see our little outdoor cat jump at two coyotes, who were attacking [Oakley] who she loves.”

Thankfully, Oakley is back to herself playing tricks and hanging out with Binx.
