When Lee from the Asher House went to Los Angeles to rescue Rain he was told that the Dalmatian dog had been found tied up in a park. The dog was not doing well in the shelter and would chew herself because of extreme anxiety. She chewed her foot so badly she couldn’t walk.
Rain really didn’t trust Lee at first. She lunged and tried to bite him repeatedly. Clearly, she has been abused and has some healing to do before she can trust people.
Lee and Rain set off on their 16 hour return trip to the Asher House sanctuary. During the trip she seemed hesitant about the attention she was getting from Lee, which he describes in the video below. But Lee says ultimately “I gained her trust and now she won’t leave my side.”
Lee shared an update about Rain saying “Rain is so loyal, she won’t leave my side.”
He also said she’s not been chewing on her paw and the two are working on her anxiety around men. So she’s making a lot of progress in a short time!
