Three terrified newborn puppies were saved after being discovered in a carrier bag hidden in a bush.
“I was out walking with a friend when I came across a dog walker who said he’d heard noises coming from a hedge, and indicated at the place where the noises were coming from,” said Susanna Bergamaschi, an animal rescue volunteer in Norma, Italy.
The frightened puppies, one black and two white, can be seen quivering inside the bag.
Bergamaschi took the puppies home and has been nursing them by hand along with a mother dog who has become the pups’ foster mother.
