Sage was saved by a woman after she was found on the street

This is Sage. Sage is an almost 4-year-old Pit bull mix. A friend found her three years ago as a stray wandering around in a bad neighborhood. She was skin and bones, full of parasites, and scared to death of everything and everyone.

I went to my friend's house for a visit and Sage was hiding in the back of a cage even though the door was open. She told me not to go up her, but to let her come to me because she was so afraid. At this time, I had a 13-year-old Standard Poodle named Princess that needed a lot of attention because her health was deteriorating, so I had no plans of getting another dog.

While I was at my friend's house, just sitting on the couch, Sage ran over, snuggled up in my lap and fell asleep. I immediately fell in love. It was a long, hard road with lots of vet visits to get her back healthy, but the best three years with her. We have a bond I have never had with any other dog, and I am so happy to be her mommy for the rest of her life. It hasn't been an easy road from stray to house dog, but it was worth every second.

This baby, although not the only baby, is the center of my world! I love her more than words could ever describe!
Katelyn, thank you for loving that baby! The picture says it all, the love and bond between the two of you. God Bless you. :)
Its beautiful to know that there are still millions of caring dog lovers. Sage is getting plenty love i can tell by the picture good on you. :)
    A match made in Heaven!
What a gorgeous photo of a gorgeous person and a gorgeous furchild. I know what you mean about a bond. I had a cat like that. Her name was Jemma. She was my soulcat. I have had dozens of cats (literally) and loved them all, but none were like her. The photo of the two of you just reminds me of her because that's how it felt to hold her. Don't take any minute for granted, love her with all you have, because that's undoubtedly how much she'll love you.
    Great work Katelyn!You guys rock!
Katelyn..you are an angel on earth, recognized by another . Bless you and your beloved Sage. Thank you for sharing your tear inducing story..I am a sucker for a great rescue story !!! The pictures are exceptional..full of love and forever promises.
Yes i love that pic too. Keep going back to it. Thank you for rescuing.
What a precious picture with you and Sage lying back on you tucked under your chin, she is sooo in love with you. Thank you for rescuing her. My furbaby I have now was found on the street and I, like you, had no intentions of getting another dog as I had been thru five deaths and didn't think I could take any more. It took me about an hour and a half and my husband and I were at Petsmart buying a bed, toys, dog food, etc. and the rest is history. Best thing I ever did, rescuing this beautiful boy... :O)
