When Stray Rescue of St. Louis spotted a dog with an injured foot they set about to rescue her. But when they noticed she had milk, Donna and her team of rescuers headed straight into the underbrush where she was living to find her puppies.
Scrambling through the branches Donna crawled through the bushes until she found their den. There nestled in a nook in the ground were the puppies – all thirteen of them!
“She did such a good job hiding them to keep them safe,” Stray Rescue writes. Carefully placing the puppies into a container, mama and puppies were brought back to the rescue to get the medical care she needs.

But their rescue isn’t over yet. Stray Rescue needs foster caregivers to help them with all their puppies.
The rescue writes: “We are looking for wonderful people/families to foster puppies! We have lots of puppies weaning from mom soon and they’ll need a family to snuggle with until they are adopted! Plus, summer is the PERFECT time to foster – you can get the whole family to experience the joy it brings!”
